Desk workers: move, rest your eyes, exercise and eat well
Working life often means long hours sitting and little movement. Herbalife Thailand material collects simple habits you can keep every day — during the working day, in how you move, and in what you eat. Part of it is by Dr. Zhen-Yu Chen, member of the Herbalife Nutrition Advisory Board.
During the working day
- Get up every hour to stretch or take a short, easy walk
- Rest your eyes every 20 minutes by looking at something far away
- Give your mind a break — listen to gentle music or close your eyes for 5 minutes
- Drink enough water — at least 6–8 glasses a day
- Remember to smile and breathe deeply
Posture and movement
- Keep good posture when walking and working
- Exercise moderately and regularly, starting from a young age
- Get outdoors more often — sunlight helps the body make vitamin D, which helps it absorb calcium
Food and other habits
- Eat balanced meals rich in calcium, such as dairy products, beans and leafy greens
- Give up habits that are bad for your health, such as smoking
