How to make new habits stick: 4 techniques for self-improvement
Whether you want to exercise regularly, drink enough water or eat more balanced meals, the hardest part usually isn't starting — it's keeping going. Herbalife Thailand material sums up four techniques for building new habits.
1. Start small
- Begin with something easy to manage so it doesn't feel overwhelming
- For example, walk a few extra minutes a day, or add vegetables to just one meal first
2. Be consistent
- Practise your habit regularly so it becomes part of everyday life
- Linking a new habit to an existing routine — say, every morning after you wake up — makes it easier to remember
3. Track your progress
- Keep a record of your efforts to stay motivated and see how far you've come
- A notebook, calendar or phone app all work — as long as you can look back
4. Reward yourself
- Celebrate your wins to reinforce good behaviour and habits
- Rewards don't need to be big — just something that makes you feel good about the effort
