What is an Independent Herbalife Distributor? Joining, costs and earnings

An Independent Herbalife Distributor is someone who signs up with the company to buy products at a discount, for their own use or to resell. Herbalife Thailand's rules call them "Independent Herbalife Members".

What distributors do

Distributors are not Herbalife employees. They run their own business, set their own schedule and decide how much time to put in.

The company says most distributors join part-time and buy products at a discount for their own use. Some share products with friends and family, some help customers use products correctly, and some build a team of distributors or open a Nutrition Club under the company's conditions.

A new distributor joins the team of the distributor who introduced them, who helps them get started, and receives training on nutrition and product use from the company.

Why most people join

• Herbalife Thailand's rules state that most members join for the product discount and their own nutrition goals.
• Joining doesn't require you to sell or build a team. You can simply use products at the discount.

How to join in Thailand

Under Herbalife Thailand's rules, an applicant must:

• Be sponsored by an Independent Herbalife Distributor
• Buy the Herbalife Member Pack (HMP)
• Complete and submit the membership application and agreement
• Have the application received by the company, which decides whether to approve it

Costs

• The only required cost to join is the Member Pack (HMP), which the sponsor must sell at cost with no markup.
• Sponsors must not require applicants to buy extra products, stock up, buy materials or buy tickets to seminars and trainings.
• The company strongly discourages borrowing money or taking on debt for this business.
• There is an annual membership fee. If it isn't paid by the application anniversary, the membership is cancelled.

If you change your mind

• Resign within 90 days after the company receives your application and agreement, and you get a full refund of the Member Pack (HMP).
• If you leave the business, you can return unopened, resaleable products and materials bought from the company in the past 12 months. The original shipping cost isn't refunded.

About earnings

• An Independent Distributor's income can come from 2 sources, and both depend on selling products: (1) retail profit, the difference between the retail price set by the company and the price the distributor paid; (2) rewards under the company's marketing plan: when you introduce and support distributors in your team and meet the plan's requirements, you may earn commissions or bonuses from your team's product use and sales.
• You cannot earn income from recruiting or sponsoring people alone.
• In 2025, many distributors benefited only from product discounts for personal use or retail, and most did not receive commissions or bonuses from the sales of other distributors. No income is guaranteed.
• Business results vary from person to person and depend on many factors, such as time, effort and skill.

Good to know before you start

• Distributors may not sell products in retail shops, markets or booths, because Herbalife sells person to person with product guidance.
• Distributors must give customers receipts and keep sales records.
